I’m a naturalist, survivalist, self-sufficiency kind of guy, passionate about exploring what it means for humanity to be in a healthy relationship with the natural world.
I've taught outdoor education to a countless number of kids since 2015. I've guided wilderness backpacking and canoe trips for youth. I am a Certified Wilderness First Responder trained to address medical emergencies in remote places.
My classes get learners excited to be outside engaging all of their senses as they partake in life-fulfilling experiences. I can think of no better way to honor my wilderness mentors than to pass down this inspiration.
I have explored much of North America and a few other continents. I grew up in Ohio, though I've lived and worked many places: MI, MN, MA, NC, TX, CA, OR, WA, AZ, CO, HI.
My teaching style is conversational and at times theatrical. I enjoy hearing from my learners and tailoring my lessons to their interests.
